‘Fauna’ Royal West of England Academy Queen’s Road, Clifton, Bristol, BS8 1PX, UK
Exhibition runs 7th Nov 2024 – 5th Jan 2025
In this exhibition myself and three other Royal West of England Academicians – Angela Lizon (painter), Dorcas Casey (sculptor) and Leslie Glenn Damhus (painter) – are brought together to explore the ideas around ‘Fauna’.
“Like the multitudes of Fauna, the diversity of these artists also share a common language allowing them to play within the many genres and numerous areas of animal symbolism found in art. Their compelling and magical unique works are steeped in the history of art, fables, myths, fairytales, dreams, fragility, childhood memories, sadness, kitsch, compassion, the subconscious and the sacred. Their work is often filled with their own distinctive sense of playfulness and humour” (Leslie Glenn Damhus)
The opening event will be part of the last academy after hours event of the season which includes The Secret Postcard Auction (closes at 10pm, last chance to bid!), entrance to the 171st Open Exhibition, live music and performances…🥂
